About Us

GoFetch is a peer-to-peer on demand delivery mobile app.  It connects local businesses and individuals in a smarter and more efficient way. By leveraging the power of the collaborative economy, GoFetch allows users to request a delivery on demand and gives a community of willing “Fetchers” the ability to undertake the request.

GoFetch aims to transform urban logistics by enabling anyone to get anything delivered in a short period of time. This closes the gap between purchases and deliveries and makes for an easy, connected and empowering experience.

Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

GoFetch respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection under the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988.

This policy describes how we manage any personal information we have about you.

This policy does not apply to our employees and job applicants.  Please contact human resources for privacy details applicable in that case.


2. What personal information about me does GoFetch collect or hold?

GoFetch may hold the following information about you:

  • name, street address, telephone number(s)
  • date of birth
  • email address
  • credit card or bank account details
  • drivers licence / passport details
  • details regarding deliveries arranged through our Platform
  • if you are a Fetcher – your current GPS location in the course of performing a delivery
  • any additional information provided to our service centre
  • any information you provide to us through customer surveys

Like many other websites, our website uses cookies.  A cookie is information sent by our website to your browser that is then stored on your computer.  It is used to identify your computer to us, and to remember previous requests you have made when you return to the website.  This allows us to improve the functionality of the website for your return visits.

We may be unable to provide our services to you if you do not provide some personal information.  For example, without name and contact details it is impractical for us to permit you to use our Platform to arrange deliveries.

If at any time you provide the personal information of another person to us, then you must ensure that that person has read and understood this policy and separately consents to that personal information being used and disclosed by us for the above purposes.


3. How does GoFetch collect and hold personal information?

We collect information about you primarily directly from you, particularly when you first register with us as a Customer or Fetcher.  We may also collect your personal information:

  • through our Platform (including when you update your details)
  • if you are part of an organization – when your organisation provides it to us
  • otherwise in the course of providing or promoting our services, including from any Customer or Fetcher with whom you engage for a delivery.

We hold most personal information electronically (and to a lesser extent in hard copy form), primarily at our own premises (but also at the premises of a limited number of service providers).  We take reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal information that we hold.


4. What does GoFetch do with personal information about me?

We use personal information about you:

  • to assist in operating the Platform and services to you in connection with it
  • to assist Fetchers (if you are a Customer) or Customers (if you are a Fetcher) in relation to deliveries in which you are involved
  • to assist with any calls you make to us or our service centre
  • for any other purpose made known to you at the time of collection of your personal information
  • to communicate promotional offers and special events
  • for our internal administrative, marketing, planning, product development and research requirements
  • potentially, to protect our legal interests or in connection with a sale of our business or company
  • to improve our products and services
  • to send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided
  • to contact you for market research purposes by email, phone, or mail
  • to customise the website according to your interests or preferences.

However we will never sell your information.

GoFetch will not disclose personal information about you to any person except on a confidential basis to contractors that we use in the ordinary operation of our business, such as for data processing, printing or mailing.

At any time you may opt out of receiving any communications from us (other than as required for the operation of our business, e.g. regarding payments by or to you, or regarding organising or completing deliveries).


5. Overseas disclosure

GoFetch does not disclose personal information to any overseas recipient.


6. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you by writing to GoFetch at the address below.  If we hold personal information that you are entitled to access, then within a reasonable period after your request we will provide you with access.  If we refuse your request then we will give you a written statement setting out the reasons for the refusal (unless unreasonable to give them), and the process we provide if you wish to complain about the refusal.

We will provide access in the manner you request if it is reasonable and practicable to do so.  If it is not reasonable and practicable to provide access in that manner then we will endeavour to provide you with a suitable range of choices as to how you access it (e.g. emailing or mailing it to you).

If you believe that personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, then you may request amendment of it.  We will consider if the information requires amendment and respond to you within a reasonable period after your request.  If we do not agree that it should be amended, then we will add a note to the personal information stating that you disagree with it and will also give you a written statement setting out the reasons for the refusal (unless unreasonable to give them), and the process we provide if you wish to complain about the refusal.

7. Complaints

Any questions about this policy, or any complaint regarding treatment of your privacy by GoFetch, should also be made in writing to the address above.

If you lodge a complaint, we will let you know the name of the individual responsible for taking care of it, and will tell you when we will provide a full response.


8. Miscellaneous

In this policy:

GoFetch means Go Fetch Co Pty Ltd ACN 635 802 390, which has issued this policy.

Personal information has the same meaning as under the Privacy Act

Platform means our website, mobile apps and any other technology that we provide for you to use.

This policy represents our policy as at 01 March 2021.  We may change this policy from time to time.  Although we intend to observe this policy at all times, it is not legally binding on GoFetch in any way.  From time to time we may regard it as necessary or desirable to act outside the policy.  GoFetch may do so, subject only to any other applicable contractual rights you have and any statutory rights you have under the Privacy Act or other applicable legislation.




Terms & Conditions

Standard GoFetch Contract

This is the Standard GoFetch Contract that applies between the relevant Customer and Fetcher where a Fetcher accepts a Job.  GoFetch is not a party to this contract.


1. PICK UP

1.1 Customer obligations

The Customer must:

  • make the Delivery Item available for collection in accordance with the Job Description;
  • ensure that at the time of collection by the Fetcher the Delivery Item is packaged in a manner and to an extent that could reasonably be expected to protect the Delivery Item from the ordinary risks of damage in transit, including due to minor impacts involved in reasonable handling or due to reasonable stacking or bagging of the packaged Delivery Item with other items;
  • ensure that a person is present at the pick up location to provide the Delivery Item to the Fetcher; and
  • ensure that detailed pick up instructions have been included in the Job Description if finding the relevant address, or accessing the relevant building, for the pick up would not be easy for a person not familiar with the address or building.
If the Customer does not do any of the above then the Fetcher may terminate the Job (via the Platform) and the Customer must pay the Fetcher the applicable Cancellation Fee.

1.2 Fetcher discretion and Prohibited Items

The Fetcher may, in the Fetcher’s discretion, decline to accept the Delivery Item and at the time of collection and terminate the Job.  Without limiting the Fetcher’s discretion, various situations in which the Fetcher might exercise that discretion are described in the Prohibited Items Policy.
The Customer must not include any Prohibited Item as, or as part of, a Delivery Item.  If the Customer does so then the Fetcher may at any time refuse to complete the Job (even if the Fetcher initially accepts the Delivery Item at pick up).

1.3 Fetcher obligations

Subject to clauses 1.1 and 1.2, the Fetcher must collect the Delivery Item in accordance with the Job Description.  The Fetcher may make the collection (and transport the Delivery Item to the drop off point) using whatever form or forms of transport the Fetcher chooses (whether that is by foot, skateboard, bike, car, van, truck or otherwise).

2. DROP OFF

2.1 Customer obligations

The Customer must:
  • ensure that, within 5 minutes of the Fetcher arriving at the drop off location, a person is present at the pick up location who states or confirms that they are authorised to receive the Delivery Item from the Fetcher; and
  • ensure that detailed pick up instructions have been included in the Job Description if finding the relevant address, or accessing the relevant building, would not be easy and straightforward for a person not familiar with the address or building.


If the Customer does not do any of the above then the Fetcher may terminate the Job (via the Platform) in which case:
  • the Fetcher must return the Delivery Item to the pick up location (or any other location, if any, agreed between the Fetcher and Customer in their discretion);
  • if a person is not present at the pick up location to accept the return of the Delivery Item then the Fetcher may leave the Delivery Item at the pick up location (or outside the pick up location if the Fetcher cannot obtain entry) and the Delivery Item will be at the Customer’s risk from that point; and 
  • the Customer must pay the Fetcher two times the full Delivery Fee.


2.2
 Fetcher obligations

Subject to the Customer complying with clause 2.1, the Fetcher must deliver the Delivery Item in accordance with the Job Description.  Upon arriving at the drop off location, the Fetcher must:

  • notify the Customer via the Platform that the Fetcher has arrived at the drop off location; and
  • wait for up to 5 minutes until a person is present at the drop off location who states or confirms that they are authorised to receive the Delivery Item from the Fetcher.


3. FETCHER'S GENERAL OBLIGATIONS

3.1 Due care etc.

The Fetcher must carry out all of Fetcher’s obligations under this agreement with all due care and in a prompt and courteous manner.

3.2 Reporting

The Fetcher must immediately notify the Customer via the Platform:

  • if for any reason the Fetcher is unable to complete the Job at all, or within any time window described in the Job Description;  and
  • upon becoming aware of any loss of, or damage to, the Delivery Item in the course of the Job, or that such loss or damage is a reasonable possibility (e.g. if the packaged Delivery Item has been crushed or suffered a significant drop).


4. PAYMENT

The Customer must pay the applicable Delivery Fee to GoFetch (on behalf of the Fetcher) via the Payment Facility at the time required by the Platform.


5. TERMINATION

The Customer may terminate this agreement at any time prior to the Delivery Item being collected by or on behalf of the Fetcher by the Customer notifying the Fetcher via the Platform.  A Cancellation Fee will apply in that case.
The Customer will not be entitled to terminate this agreement after the Delivery Item has been collected by the Fetcher.

The Fetcher will not be entitled to terminate this agreement at any time except as set out in clauses 1.1 and 1.2 above.


6. LIABILITY

6.1 Exclusion of categories of loss

The following applies only to the extent (if any) permitted by Law.  All liability of the Fetcher and Customer is excluded in respect of any indirect or consequential Loss suffered or incurred by the other, in relation to any Job (or proposed Job), including any delay or failure by either party in connection with same, or otherwise under or in connection with this agreement, and in any event (including where amounting to a direct loss) for any lost profits or goodwill.


7. CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

7.1 Obligation of confidentiality

Each party to this agreement agrees to keep in confidence any Confidential Information of the other party, and to use the other party’s Confidential Information only for the purposes of this agreement.

7.2 Exceptions

Clause 7.1 does not apply to any information which:

  • enters the public domain other than by breach of this agreement; or
  • is required by Law to be disclosed, provided that the disclosing party uses reasonable efforts to protect the confidentiality of such information.

Despite the above, either party may at any time provide any information to GoFetch, including where requested by GoFetch.


8. NOTICES

Any notice given under this agreement by either party to the other must be in writing sent via the Platform.


9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

The Customer and Fetcher must each endeavour to resolve directly with one another any dispute that arises in connection with the Job.  If any such dispute arises, and it is not resolved within 5 Business Days of either party notifying GoFetch of the dispute, then the Customer and Fetcher must comply with the Dispute Resolution Policy.


10. MISCELLANEOUS

10.1 Independent contractors
The relationship between the Customer and Fetcher is that of independent contracting parties and, except to the extent (if any) expressly stated in this agreement, no employment, agency, partnership or fiduciary relationship will arise as a result of this or any related agreement.  Each party has no right, power or authority to bind the other to any agreement, arrangement or understanding in any manner whatsoever.

10.2 Entire agreement
Without limiting any obligations that the Customer or Fetcher may have to GoFetch, this agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Customer and Fetcher in relation to its subject matter.

10.3 Applicable law

This agreement is to be construed according to, and is governed by, the Laws of Victoria.  The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in and of Victoria in relation to any dispute arising under this agreement.


11. INTERPRETATION

11.1 Dictionary
In this agreement the following phrases have the following meanings:

Business Day means a day on which the major trading banks are open for ordinary business in Melbourne, excluding a Saturday, Sunday or any public holiday in Melbourne, Victoria.

Cancellation Fee means the corresponding fee calculated in accordance with the Price List.

Confidential Information of a party to this agreement means all information of a confidential nature of or relating to that party, including anything which is indicated to be subject to an obligation of confidence which is disclosed by that party to the other party in relation to this agreement, or that comes to the knowledge or into the possession of the other party in connection with this agreement.  Confidential Information of the Customer includes nature and description of the Delivery Item, and any information contained within the Delivery Item.

Delivery Fee means the fee (as stated in the relevant Job Description) payable by the Customer to the Fetcher for a Job.

Delivery Item means the item (or items) that is to be delivered by the Fetcher as part of the Job.

Dispute Resolution Policy means the process (and corresponding obligations) described in the document published by GoFetch from time to time with that title.

GoFetch means Go Fetch Co Pty Ltd ACN 635 802 390

GoFetch Apps mean the mobile apps provided by GoFetch that, amongst other things, enable Customers to request Jobs, or Fetchers to accept Jobs.

Job means the delivery job requested by the Customer via the Platform.

Job Description means the description of the Job provided via the Platform, including the description of:

  • the Delivery Item; and
  • the location and time window for the pick up and drop off points; and
  • the Delivery Fee.

Laws means all applicable laws, regulations, standards, codes, orders and directions, including those issued by any governmental authority.

Loss means any loss, damage, cost, interest, expense, fee, penalty, fine, forfeiture, assessment, demand, action, suit, claim, proceeding, cause of action, liability or damages incurred by a person, and includes legal costs on an indemnity basis and indirect or consequential losses.

Payment Facility means the facility provided by GoFetch via the Platform through which Customers can pay Fetchers for or in relation to Jobs.

Platform means the Website, GoFetch Apps and any other technology that GoFetch provides for Customers and Fetchers to use.

Price List means the price list displayed on the Website.

Prohibited Item has the meaning given in the Prohibited Items Policy published by GoFetch from time to time with that title.

Website means GoFetch’s website at www.go-fetch.com.au

11.2 Rules of interpretation

In this agreement:

Gender.  Words importing any gender include the other genders.

Headings.  Headings will be ignored in construing this document.

Inclusive Terms.  Use of inclusive terms such as “includes” or “including” will be read as “includes, without limitation” or “including, without limitation”.

Numbers.  Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa.

Persons.  References to persons include corporations.

Writing.  References to writing include any mode of representing or reproducing words in visible form, and include email transmissions.

What exactly is GoFetch?

GoFetch is a platform to connect customers and businesses with independent couriers operating across all Australian state and territory capitals as well as some selected regional centres. We connect customers needing items delivered with Fetchers willing to collect and deliver them. 


How is GoFetch different to other couriers?

GoFetch is not a courier company at all. Our Fetchers are not employees. We simply introduce customers needing items delivered with people willing to perform the delivery. We carry out rigorous background checks on our Fetchers, but they can be anyone over 18 with an ABN. GoFetch allows anyone to get things for you - 24 hours a day.


Are my items secure?

Yes - GoFetch guarantees your items to the value of $200 per fetch. We perform rigorous background checks on our Fetchers, so you know your items are in safe hands. It is also in the Fetcher's interest to do a good job because you rate them! Money is not transferred to the Fetcher until you confirm receipt of the goods and close the job.

At any time, you can use the 'Report Issue' button to highlight any problems.


How do GoFetch prices compare to other delivery companies?

GoFetch operates using a peer-to-peer platform and therefore does not require its own bikes, cars or vans. By connecting people who are already on the move with others that need items delivered, we reduce the overall costs of deliveries. We pass these savings directly to you, allowing GoFetch to provide the best value delivery rates possible.


Is there a limit to size and weight of the items I can request be delivered?

Couriers on the GoFetch platform are able to deliver items and packages  of all shapes and sizes. There are fetchers on foot, on bike, in cars and even fetchers with vans.

*Do not that some van deliveries may take longer to match to a fetcher, but our friendly operations team will get right onto it!


Does GoFetch service all suburbs?

GoFetch is now available in all Australian state and territory capitals, as well selected regional centres.  By entering your postcode we can tell you if we are in your area or when we are coming!



Fetchers


Can anyone perform the delivery?

Yes - anyone over 18 with an ABN (Australian Business Number) can become a Fetcher. ABN's are free to get (http://www.business.gov.au/registration-and-licences/Pages/register-for-an-australian-business-number-abn.aspx)


Do I need a car?

No - you can fetch on foot, skateboard, bicycle, car, van, truck. Any way you like.


As a Fetcher, will I be a GoFetch employee?

No - you will not be a GoFetch employee. You will have your own ABN and in effect, be your own small business or sole trader. We simply match you with customers needing something delivered.


How do I get paid?

The moment delivery is confirmed by the customer, the job is closed off and their credit card is debited. The money is transferred to your nominated account. This takes approximately 5 business days.


Is there a limit to the number of fetches I perform?

No. You can do as many as you like! It's super flexible. Just set the GoFetch app to 'active' and you can choose from a list of available jobs - 24 hours a day!


What if I get lost?

The GoFetch app directs you using GPS so you can use your phone to see where you are located in relation to the pick-up and drop-off points. If you have any troubles, you can open Live Chat with the customer - or even call them.
